School Day

Ormesby Primary School is open to pupils from 8.45 am to 3.15 pm. This provides a total opening time for pupils of 32.5 hours per week.

Arriving at School

Children should arrive between 8.30am and 8.40am, lined up ready for 8.45am.

As the playground is only supervised from this time, please ensure your child does not arrive before 8.30am. There is no formal supervision from staff until the doors are opened.

Late Arrivals

Once doors have closed , all children arriving after 8.50am will need to be brought to the main reception by an adult to be signed in and will be registered as late. This will appear on your child’s attendance record. Please try to ensure your child arrives on time.

Absence

If your child is ill please contact the school office (01642 314430) to let us know the reason for absence and possible duration. We can then authorise the absence. School operate a ‘first day call’ policy whereby if your child is absent and we have not heard from you, the office will phone contact numbers to find out the reason for absence,

Appointments

If your child has an appointment during the school day you will need to sign them out at the school office when you collect them. Pupils should return to school after their appointment where possible.
