PHSE
Here at Ormesby Primary School, we feel that PSHCE plays a vital role in children’s development. A fundamental understanding of positive and healthy relationships with others underpins our curriculum. With this ideology, we are ensuring that children are given the opportunity to develop their understanding of the skills needed to be a successful member of both our school and the wider community in which they represent.
Extending from both our school and beyond, the children will leave Ormesby Primary School with strong moral principles that link seamlessly with the British Values that we uphold. Our PSHCE curriculum provides the children a chance to express pride and respect for our local area and those people around us in particular, who are there to help. In doing this, we encourage the children to aspire to make positive contributions to society whether that be during their time at OPS by supporting change within their locality, through expressing their own beliefs, values and attitudes in a respectful way or in their career choices later in life.
Foundations are laid throughout the progression of our PSHCE curriculum, guiding the children on explorative journeys to decipher and question the complexity of future life, finances, how to ensure safety in the developing world and the responsibilities the children will uphold as successful citizens.
