Geography
At Ormesby Primary School, we aspire that our Geography curriculum embeds a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with our pupils for the rest of their lives. It develops pupils’ understanding about the Earth’s key physical and human processes, exploring diverse places, people and resources.
Practical activities and fieldwork experiences of Geography in action is at the heart of the curriculum to help children to make sense of the world around them. Our locality is celebrated and is significant in providing meaningful experiences where children can apply their learning. Our curriculum ensures a clear progression of skills that develops pupils’ geographical knowledge and understanding. Children achieve depth in their learning through revisiting skills in carefully selected topics, both locally and using comparisons that are world wide.
